Details of the application

A.L. Lee Farming Company has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from an Unnamed Inland Drain, Littleport, and Cambridgeshire between National Grid References TL54065 92544 and TL54533 92524 and also at National Grid Reference TL53929 92720.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 300 cubic metres an hour
  • 6,000 cubic metres a day
  • 113,654 cubic metres a year
  • between 1 November and 31 March inclusive in each year.

The water will be used for a winter storage reservoir for subsequent re-abstraction for spray irrigation purposes.
