Biography

Roberta Brownlee was appointed Chair of the Southern Health & Social Care Trust (NI) in March 2011 a position which she still holds, this Trust has responsibility for spending £1.5 million per day. She has served as a Non Executive Director of three different Health and Social Care Trusts and Social Care Board for fifteen years.

Roberta has served as a Board Member of the Southern Education & Library Board (NI) for ten years. Roberta is a Member of the Care Tribunal (Department of Justice, Courts & Tribunal Service) for fifteen years, a position she still holds.

Roberta has extensive experience in a variety of senior leadership positions in the Public, Private and Voluntary Sectors and completed a Masters Degree in Executive Leadership which included training and development in Lausanne Business School in Switzerland and Boston USA.

Roberta has her own Consultancy business which provides a range of services in strategic management, quality improvement, and performance and personnel matters. A past client was Robson Rhodes (Insolvent Practitioner London).

Roberta Brownlee is the Director and Owner of SRB Care Ltd, which operates a Nursing Home in the Western Health & Social Care Trust (NI). Roberta was previously Chief Executive of the Sandown Group of Nursing Homes (the largest privately owned nursing home group in the UK with homes in Scotland, England and NI) and Managing Director of Tamaris Healthcare.

Roberta is a Governor of two schools in NI. A keen fund raiser Roberta spends much of her leisure time assisting many Regional and National Charities promoting their awareness and has over the past thirty years raised hundreds of thousands of pounds. Recently with the teams of the Southern Trust raised £204,000 for Marie Curie Cancer Charity.

In 2015 Roberta was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of her professional leadership and business acumen.
