Biography

Nigel Townley joined Innovate UK in January 2014.

He is responsible for managing the organisation’s information technology resources, change programmes and process improvement.

Nigel’s previous roles include:

  • Engineering Director at Cisco Systems responsible for the Enhanced Customer Aligned Test Services (ECATS) group in Europe, Middle East, Africa and Russia (EMEAR).
  • Prior roles in Cisco, Comverse Network Systems, Stratus Computer and Honeywell / Bull, covering management, project management, software development, support and pre-sales positions - a mix of engineering, sales and customer services perspectives across the IT and telecommunications industry.

The role of the Director - IT & Business Change at Innovate UK is to manage the organisation’s information technology resources. The Director - IT & Business Change is responsible for identifying and deploying methods to optimise Innovate UK’s core IT systems in support of business needs, to deliver excellent customer service, and to lead the IT and Programme Management Office teams.
