Dr Christian Schneider joined the National Institute for Biological Standards and Control (NIBSC) in January 2016, formerly head of the medical division of the Danish Health and Medicines Authority.
Christian is qualified in medicine and previously worked at the Max Planck Institute for Neurobiology, the Paul Ehrlich Institute in Germany.
He has a strong scientific background with an extensive publication record and a wealth of experience with a broad range of biological products.
Christian is also a former Chair of the Committee for Advanced Therapies and continues to Chair the CHMP Working Party on Similar Biological Medicinal Products at the European Medicines Agency (EMA), as well as being a former CHMP member (co-opted because of his expertise in the quality and safety of biological products).
