The UK Government has today confirmed a further £50million of funding to support the Northern Ireland Executive tackle coronavirus

People in Northern Ireland also benefit from a range of UK-wide measures including £330 billion worth of UK Government-backed loans, the Job Retention Scheme and the UK-wide PPE strategy.
As a result of the UK Government’s funding boost for councils across England announced by Local Government Secretary Robert Jenrick, the Northern Ireland Executive will receive an additional £50 million. This takes the total funding the UK Government has made available to the Northern Ireland Executive to support its efforts to tackle coronavirus to almost £1.2 billion. This money will help the devolved administration to provide essential services and support to those who need it most during this national emergency.
Commenting on this additional funding, Brandon Lewis MP, Secretary of State for Northern Ireland said:
From the outset of this coronavirus crisis, the UK Government has committed to doing whatever it takes to support the devolved administrations in their fight to defeat this virus. The additional £50 million for the Northern Ireland Executive announced today will help bolster vital public services as they respond to the challenges of Coronavirus.
