Civil news: guidance on requests for supplementary matter starts

We have produced revised guidance on how we will approach requests for supplementary matter starts.

We have revised the guidance our contract managers use when looking at provider requests for supplementary matter starts and this is available on GOV.UK.

The key change is that the guidance now applies to all categories of law with the exception of family mediation and the 2013 Standard Civil Contract (Welfare Benefits).

This means that all civil providers in those categories will be able to request or self-grant supplementary matter starts up to 50% of their original allocation.

This will replace all previously issued guidance with immediate effect.
