1 February 2008
17 September 2015
The trust was removed from Special Measures on 17 September 2015 after making notable improvements and Monitor issued ain respect of all of the trust’s enforcement undertakings accepted by Monitor on 6 August 2013, apart from paragraphs 3.3 and 3.4. These 2 paragraphs required the trust to commission an external assurance review of the effective and timely implementation of the recommendations and associated actions that resulted from an earlier independent governance review, and to implement effectively any recommendations and associated actions identified in the external assurance review. Monitor considers that these paragraphs are redundant and they are no longer effective, as assurance of the matters that would have been covered by those actions has now been demonstrated by other means.
Other action Monitor has taken:
Issued aon 16 September 2015 in respect of the trust’s additional licence condition imposed by Monitor on 6 August 2013, after the trust made improvements to the way it is run.
Accepted newfrom the trust on 16 September 2015 to ensure the trust addresses its short-term and long-term financial challenges.
Issued aon 16 September in respect of the trust’s discretionary requirements imposed by Monitor on 25 April 2013.
Issued ain respect of the trust’s enforcement undertakings accepted by Monitor on 25 April 2013.
16 July 2013
The trust has been served notice that it will be put in special measures to fix failings in patient care and hospital governance identified by Prof Sir Bruce Keogh.
