The final report from the union connectivity review call for evidence has now been published.
Sir Peter Hendy’s primary recommendation is for the establishment of a multi-modal transport network (UKNET).
Additionally, based on evidence submitted to the review, Sir Peter identifies existing transport projects that would support better connectivity and should be considered by the government for future investment.

Call for evidence description
On 30 June 2020, the Prime Minister announced a review, independently led by Sir Peter Hendy CBE, of how the quality and availability of transport infrastructure across the UK can support economic growth and quality of life across the whole of the UK.
The terms of reference were published on 3 October 2020 and an interim report outlining Sir Peter’s approach to the review was published on 10 March 2021.
The government has asked Sir Peter to consult widely, and this call for evidence seeks views and responses from:
- industry
- academics
- local authorities
- engineering experts
- the general public
