We have published a report of the review setting out the key findings on how victims of domestic abuse can be supported in the workplace, and the actions government will take as a result.

We received 126 responses to this call for evidence.

As well as the call, evidence gathering for the review included a series of ministerial and official-level roundtables with:

  • the Designate Domestic Abuse Commissioner
  • the Victims Commissioner
  • trade unions
  • specialist domestic abuse charities and service providers
  • employers and their representatives across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland

Call for evidence description

The review aims to ensure survivors of domestic abuse are given the support they deserve within the workplace, whether that is an outlet for reporting abuse, financial assistance or as a source of emotional support.

As part of this review, the government is seeking evidence based on the following questions:

  • what practical circumstances arise in relation to domestic abuse and work?
  • what support can be offered in the workplace to victims of domestic abuse?
  • what is possible with the existing framework?
  • what does current best practice look like?
  • what is the potential to do more?
