Review of consents for major energy infrastructure projects and Special Protection Areas
Consultation description
When a new internationally designated conservation site such as a Special Protection Area is designated or updated the competent authority, in this case BEIS, is required to review decisions made regarding consents, permissions or other authorisations for all relevant plans or projects which are likely to have a significant effect on that site.
The purpose of this consultation is to seek the views of all interested parties on a draft Screening of Likely Significant Effects report which assesses the likely significant effect of these consents upon relevant Special Protection Areas.
Consultation workshops
We are holding 3 identical online workshops to outline the reasons for the review, the process and the initial outcomes, providing an opportunity for clarification and discussion.
