Consultation description

The government has announced wide ranging reforms to the powers and role of Companies House, to improve business transactions and tackle economic crime. This follows the previous consultation on Corporate transparency and register reform.

We are now consulting on 3 detailed areas of the reform:

  • to give the registrar new powers to query information, which will be exercised on a risk-based approach (this consultation). The consultation also explores how the registrar’s powers could be strengthened in a range of areas, including to close various loopholes and to amend or remove information from the companies register.
