Modelling soil organic matter transformations and nitrogen availability in periodically flooded soils. Final Technical Report for project R6750.

Abstract

This document represents the final report of project R6750, 'Modelling soil organic matter transformations and nitrogen availability in periodically flooded soils', which aimed to contribute to the improved management of irrigated rice production systems. The major outputs of the project are the models SOMO and SUMO, the former providing a framework within which the transformations of measurable SOM fractions can be related to O2 availability, the latter - which contains the former - integrating this framework within a larger one representing field-scale properties and crop growth.
