Disseminating Orange-Fleshed Sweet Potato: Findings from a HarvestPlus Project in Mozambique and Uganda.

Abstract

From 2007 to 2009, HarvestPlus disseminated orange-fleshed sweet potato to more than 24,000 households in Mozambique and Uganda to see if vitamin A deficiency could be reduced through food. This was the first time that a biofortified crop, notably with a different coloor, had been released on such a large scale. The results of the project are presented.
