CLP-2 Districts: An Assessment of the Number of Core Participant Households and Island Char Villages

Abstract

During the design phase for CLP-2, data were provided by Implementing Organisations (IMOs) about the number of island chars and the population living on those island chars in the districts of Nilphamari, Rangpur, Lalmonirhat, Pabna and Tangail, the CLP-2 working area. The purpose of this study was to verify the accuracy of that data and provide an estimate about the number of core participant households (CPHHs) currently living in island char villages in these districts. The data indicate there are lower than expected numbers of households likely to meet the current CLP selection criteria.
