Chinese health foreign aid and policy: beyond medical aid

Abstract

In this correspondence the authors discuss the possibility of China expanding its public health assistance in LMICs (low and middle income countries), and highlight the need for LMIC partners to be closely involved in implementing strategies, the need to identify the highest priority issues, explore how interventions are best implemented, and assess potential strategies before scaling up in LMICs (an approach often now used in US and UK aid programmes).
