Seasonally adjusted transaction figures are 2% higher \nthan in June 2025. Residential transactions in April and May 2025 were depressed due to transactions being brought forward into March 2025 ahead of <abbr title=\"Stamp Duty Land Tax\">SDLT</abbr> threshold changes in England and Northern Ireland.  Figures returned to typical levels in June 2025. The year-on-year increase in transactions in June 2026 likely represent an increase in underlying property market activity.</p>\n\n<p>Non-seasonally adjusted residential transactions increased by\n11% in June 2026 relative to \nMay 2026.</p>\n\n<p>Seasonally adjusted non-residential transactions have seen an increase, with figures for\nJune 2026 \n2% higher relative to\nMay 2026 and 4% lower than in\nJune 2025.</p>\n\n<p>Non-seasonally adjusted non-residential transactions are\n14% higher relative to\nMay 2026.</p>\n\n<p>These statistics represent completions which are on average two to four months \nafter an initial offer is made on a property. They do not necessarily \nrepresent the current strength of the property market.</p>\n\n<h2 id=\"about-this-release\">About this release</h2>\n\n<p>These HM Revenue and Customs (<abbr title=\"HM Revenue and Customs\">HMRC</abbr>) National Statistics provide monthly\nprovisional estimates of residential and non-residential property\ntransactions in the <abbr title=\"United Kingdom\">UK</abbr> and its constituent countries. National\nStatistics are <a rel=\"external\" href=\"https://osr.statisticsauthority.gov.uk/accredited-official-statistics/\">accredited official\nstatistics</a>.</p>\n\n<p>These statistics are based upon records by <abbr title=\"HM Revenue and Customs\">HMRC</abbr>, <a rel=\"external\" href=\"https://www.revenue.scot/\">Revenue\nScotland</a> and the <a rel=\"external\" href=\"https://gov.wales/welsh-revenue-authority\">Welsh Revenue Authority\n(<abbr title=\"Welsh Revenue Authority\">WRA</abbr>)</a> for <a href=\"https://www.gov.uk/topic/business-tax/stamp-taxes\">Stamp Duty Land\nTax (<abbr title=\"Stamp Duty Land Tax\">SDLT</abbr>)</a>, Land and\nBuildings Transaction Tax (<abbr title=\"Land and Buildings Transaction Tax\">LBTT</abbr>) and Land Transaction Tax (<abbr title=\"Land Transaction Tax\">LTT</abbr>)\nrespectively.</p>\n\n<p>The latest release was published 09:30am 31 July 2026 and was updated\nwith provisional data from completed transactions during\nJune 2026. The next release will be published\n<a href=\"https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/monthly-property-transactions-completed-in-the-uk-with-value-40000-or-above\">09:30am\n28 August 2026</a> and\nwill be updated with provisional data from completed transactions during\nJuly 2026.</p>\n\n<p>The ‘Monthly property transactions completed in the <abbr title=\"United Kingdom\">UK</abbr> with value of\n£40,000 or above’ statistical release is <a rel=\"external\" href=\"https://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/information-management/re-using-public-sector-information/uk-government-licensing-framework/crown-copyright/\">Crown\nCopyright</a>.\nThe information can be used as long as the source is clearly described.</p>\n\n<h2 id=\"the-latest-statistics\">The latest statistics</h2>\n\n<p>The latest statistics section provides information on <abbr title=\"United Kingdom\">UK</abbr> residential and\nnon-residential transactions during the previous 3 years. To demonstrate\nany underlying trends within the data, <a rel=\"external\" href=\"https://www.census.gov/data/software/x13as.html\">seasonally\nadjusted</a> transactions\nestimates are provided alongside non-seasonally adjusted estimates.</p>\n\n<p>Caution is advised when interpreting estimates for the latest month due\nto their provisional status. This is because they are based upon\nincomplete data as not all <abbr title=\"Stamp Duty Land Tax\">SDLT</abbr>, <abbr title=\"Land and Buildings Transaction Tax\">LBTT</abbr> and <abbr title=\"Land Transaction Tax\">LTT</abbr> returns are received by\n<abbr title=\"HM Revenue and Customs\">HMRC</abbr>, Revenue Scotland and <abbr title=\"Welsh Revenue Authority\">WRA</abbr> when figures are compiled. highest\ntransaction figures since the introduction of these <abbr title=\"Stamp Duty Land Tax\">SDLT</abbr> statistics\nin 2005 <br><br>\n</li>\n  <li>impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in the quarter 2 of\n2020 showing the lowest quarterly total for transactions since the\nintroduction of these <abbr title=\"Stamp Duty Land Tax\">SDLT</abbr> statistics in 2005 <br><br>\n</li>\n  <li>as with <abbr title=\"United Kingdom\">UK</abbr> residential transactions, the 2007 financial crisis\ntriggered a fall in <abbr title=\"United Kingdom\">UK</abbr> non-residential
