Product is inadequately earthed and does not notify the consumer in the instructions, if a fault were to occur with the product during use the metal parts accessible to the consumer could become live and, if the consumer was unaware of the fault, would receive an electric shock. The sample was not marked with a single postal address at which the manufacturer can be contacted. The sample had not been accompanied by adequate instructions and safety information in a language easily understood by consumers and other end-users.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.
Corrective action
The import has been rejected at the border.
