Grenfell environmental checks: Stage 2 report

Full results of the second stage of environmental checks carried out on the soil around the Grenfell Tower site between May 2020 and April 2021.

1. Introduction

Environmental checks in and around Grenfell Tower were announced in October 2018. Stage 1, of a two-stage programme, was carried out over the spring and summer of 2019 and the full Stage 1 report was published in October 2019. Stage 1 informed the design of Stage 2 which involves more extensive soil sampling and analysis.

The initial results of Stage 2 were shared with residents. We have now published the full Stage 2 report, produced by the independent specialists, AECOM, on behalf of the Multi-Agency Partnership, which is responsible for overseeing the programme.

The full Stage 2 report provides a non-technical summary, a detailed technical report and appendices which provide detailed background information and all the data from the sampling.
