In August 2023, HMRC’s Accounting Officer undertook an assessment of the Single Customs Platform Programme.
The programme has been established to improve the resilience of the Customs Declaration Service (CDS) IT system to migrate over 6000 customers from the Customs Handling of Import & Export Freight (CHIEF) system to CDS and to decommission the CHIEF system.
The Accounting Officer’s assessment concluded that the programme is value for money and deliverable.
