This notice should be read in conjunction with MGN 505 (M) fatigue, MGN 520 (M) the deadly dozen, MGN 299 (M+F) inappropriate use of mobile phones whilst on duty, “the human element - a guide to human behaviour in the shipping industry”, “being human in safety critical organisations” and other maritime human element publications.

Notice to shipowners, ship operators and managers, masters, officers and crew of merchant vessels, skippers and crew of domestic passenger ships, fishing vessels and inland waterways vessels.

This replaces MGN 638.
