This strategy sets out how we will move towards Good Environmental Status (GES) in our seas over the next 6 years.

It covers:

  • the updated monitoring programmes used to gather data to assess the state of the UK’s seas
  • the progress we have made since 2014
  • issues and opportunities for monitoring that we aim to address in the near future

It is an update to the UK Marine Strategy part two published in 2014.
