This guidance is for providers and Mayoral Strategic Authorities (MSAs) delivering construction industry placements for the 2026 to 2027 academic year. There is separate guidance for each.

It explains what the funding is for and how it supports delivery of high-quality industry placements for level 2 and level 3 learners on construction qualifications without mandatory placements.

It sets out:

• learner eligibility and national expectations
• funding arrangements
• roles and responsibilities of providers and employers
• how funding can be used to support employer costs

It also covers requirements for:

• monitoring and assurance
• data management
