Germany is currently Europe’s leading manufacturing exporter, so its industrial model may hold important lessons for UK manufacturing.
This report analyses the German manufacturing sector in terms of capital, labour and product markets. It examines how the sector operates, considers the role of policies and institutions, and assesses the medium and long term future.
This review was commissioned as part of the Foresight project on the future of manufacturing in the UK.
