055/20 Updated ESF National Eligibility Rules and Programme Guidance. New Simplified Cost Options Guidance

Updated 29 February 2024

Date Issued 17/11/2020
Review Date 17/11/2021

1. Who should read

ESF Applicants, ESF Grant Recipients, including Co-Financing Organisations, ESF Managing Authority, Greater London Authority, Devolved Intermediate Bodies and Local Enterprise Partnerships.

2. Purpose

This action note is to inform stakeholders involved in ESF 2014-2020 delivery that the ESF National Eligibility Rules and Programme Guidance have been updated and combined to become one product. A new Simplified Cost Options Guidance document has been created. Both documents can be accessed on GOV.UK.

3. Background

As part of a review of the ESF National Eligibility Rules and Programme Guidance the Managing Authority has updated and combined both to create one document - Eligibility Rules and Programme Guidance document.

The Managing Authority has also created a separate guidance document for Simplified Costs Options.

Both guidance documents have been produced in consultation with key stakeholders involved in the delivery of the ESF 2014-2020 programme.

There are no major changes to the Eligibility Rules or Programme Guidance as the exercise to review and update has been part of general housekeeping so the content is generally the same. However, it is worth noting that the Asylum Seeker section has been reviewed by Home Office colleagues so has changed slightly.

4. Action

To note that updated combined guidance and the new Simplified Cost Options guidance is available on GOV.UK.
