Details

The Industrial Injuries Advisory Council (IIAC) have been considering the death data published by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) to the end of 2020. IIAC have found there is evidence of a doubling of risk for several occupations but are not recommending prescription at this time. However, it does feel it is on a pathway to recommending prescription based on its observation of a clear association between occupation and increased risk of COVID-19.

IIAC will continue to consider the emerging data from a longer period of follow-up which will allow a greater understanding of the effect that Post-COVID-19 syndrome may have on loss of function and will report on this in future papers.
