Details

Applications for funding from the Big Energy Savings Network 2017 to 2018 are now open until 5pm Friday 27 October 2017. We will review applications and aim to notify applicants of the outcome by Friday 10 November. Delivery of outreach by successful applicants will begin in November 2017 and run through to March 2018.

The Big Energy Saving Network (BESN) is a £1.7 million programme jointly funded by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and National Energy Action (NEA) to support eligible third sector organisations and community groups deliver help and advice to vulnerable consumers.

Following the success of the first 4 years, BEIS is pleased to launch the application process for grant funding of the 2017 to 2018 programme. The Big Energy Saving Network delivers an extensive programme of outreach to vulnerable consumers, focused on helping them reduce their energy costs and consumption.

This funded outreach programme will run through autumn/winter 2017 to 2018, with outreach activity concluding on Friday 30 March 2018. The programme of outreach will be led by specially trained Network Champions who will co-ordinate the training of further volunteers and frontline workers. These volunteers and frontline workers will in turn deliver proactive advice to consumers on energy issues via an assisted action approach.

The complementary Big Energy Saving Week campaign will promote the sources of help available to consumers during winter.

Eligible third sector organisations and community groups are invited to make an application for funding by no later than 5pm on Friday 27 October 2017.

Please note that the same Champion cannot be nominated by more than 1 organisation and that a Champion appointed by NEA cannot be nominated for BEIS funding.

If you have any questions about the application process please contact BESN@beis.gov.uk.

We will acknowledge applications within 2 working days and aim to notify applicant organisations within 2 weeks of the closing date.

We will add details of successful organisations to this webpage as soon as these have been announced.
