An anonymous healthcare professional complained about the article “Treating obesity with Botulinum Toxin” published in the December 2016 edition of the Aesthetics Journal. The complainant alleged that the article was a disguised promotion for an off label indication for Galderma’s Botulinum Toxin product.
The MHRA did not uphold the complaint. Galderma stated that they had no involvement in the writing, publication or distribution of the article. The authors of the article also confirmed that the article expressed their opinion and was commissioned and written as an independent scientific review.
