Details

These reports set out the work done as part of the A47 and A12 corridor feasibility study.

The study looked at how to improve the A47 trunk road between the A1 and Great Yarmouth, and the A12 trunk road between Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft.

The study was split into 3 stages, which were:

  • stage 1 - understand the current and future situation, establish the need for intervention, identify objectives and define the geographic area of impact
  • stage 2 - generate and perform an initial shift of options, and develop and assess the potential of these options
  • stage 3 - produce an option assessment report, and clarify modelling and appraisal methods for further appraisal

The Department for Transport (DfT) commissioned this work and AECOM Limited conducted the analysis. DfT has provided an overview of the study which informed our ‘Road investment strategy’ (RIS) and particularly the ‘RIS investment plan’.
