Vicky Beer

Biography

Vicky Beer started her role as Regional Director for North West in September 2022.

Vicky was previously the Regional Schools Commissioner for Lancashire and West Yorkshire. Before her appointment, Vicky was a national leader of education and was the Executive Principal of the West Trafford Learning Partnership, part of the Dean Trust.

Earlier in her career she also:

  • was a Chair of the Teaching Schools Council (2011 to 2015) and a peer member supporting the council
  • worked as an Ofsted additional inspector
  • was the Director and founding member of By Schools for Schools, a system-led school improvement body serving the Greater Manchester area

Vicky Beer was awarded a CBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours in 2013.

Regional Director for North West

The Regional Director for North West is responsible for working locally across children’s social care, SEND, schools and area-based programmes to improve outcomes for children, families and learners. They are responsible for making decisions in the following local authorities:
