Roderick Drummond

Biography

Roderick Drummond was appointed Her Majesty’s British Ambassador to Bahrain in April 2019. Prior to this appointment, he was the Director Security, Estates and Security Directorate from 2016 to 2019.

Drummond joined the Diplomatic Service in 1985. Some of his previous postings in the Middle East and North Africa region include:

  • Riyadh - Deputy Head of Mission and Consul General from 2009 to 2013
  • Damascus - Deputy Head of Mission from 2004 to 2007
  • Amman - Deputy Head of Mission from 2002 to 2004
  • Algiers - Second Secretary Political/ Economic/Press from 1988 to 1992

Drummond is married to Yasmin and they have 3 children.
