Patrick McCartan CBE

Biography

Patrick McCartan CBE has chaired the Independent Financial Review Panel of the Northern Ireland Assembly, and the Police Pensions Board Northern Ireland. He chaired the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust and the Labour Relations Agency, and has led in dispute resolution, and in pay structures in public and private sectors. His career includes experience as an academic in Management Education, as a trade union official and as a civil servant.

NCARRB Member

Members of the National Crime Agency Remuneration Review Body are responsible for:

  • making recommendations on the pay and allowances of National Crime Agency (NCA) officers designated with operational powers
  • considering written evidence from the Home Office, the NCA, trades unions and other interested parties
  • conducting research on pay and related matters
  • visiting the NCA to meet NCA officers with operational powers and management to gather information and views on pay and related issues

The member of the PRRB is responsible for providing independent advice to the government on pay and conditions for police officers at or below the rank of chief superintendent in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
