Matthew Style was appointed as Director General for NHS Policy and Performance in November 2021.

- Director of Local Government Finance (including adult social care) at the Department for Communities and Local Government
- Deputy Director, Public Services and Head of the Health and Social Care Team at HM Treasury
- Private Secretary to the Prime Minister

Part of DHSC’s senior leadership team, the Director General is responsible for leading on all matters relating to NHS policy and performance in the department.
