Ilona Blue
Biography
Ilona Blue is an experienced non-executive director (NED), Audit Chair and executive leader with a successful track record in finance, governance and programme delivery.
Ilona holds non-executive roles with:
- DfT OLR Holdings Limited
- Accent Group, a housing association
- the General Dental Council, the UK-wide statutory regulator of the dental team
- Frimley NHS Integrated Care Board
Ilona was previously a NED and Senior Independent Director at South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust. She was also a non-executive member of the Audit Risk and Assurance Committee at Defence Equipment and Support (part of the Ministry of Defence).
Her executive career began in academia where she undertook public health research. She then joined the Civil Service where she spent over 20 years in 4 departments: HM Treasury, Department for Work and Pensions, Home Office and Department for Transport. Ilona’s most recent role was Group Finance Director at the Department for Transport which she held from 2016 to 2022.
Audit and Risk Committee Chair
The Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee provides oversight of risk, financial control and governance across Active Travel England.
