Iain King

Biography

Iain King was appointed Chief Financial Officer at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs in December 2022.

Before that Iain was Interim Chief Operating Officer at the Department for Education and Director General of the Operations and Infrastructure Group from April to December 2022.

Iain started his career in the Civil Service at HM Treasury in 2010 and has also worked in the Northern Ireland Office and the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.

His previous roles include:

  • Director of Operational Finance, Estates and Security and Chief Financial Officer in Department for Education
  • Finance and Corporate Strategy Deputy Director in Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy

Prior to joining the Civil Service, Iain spent over 7 years in the private sector, working as a consultant and auditor for charities and not-for-profit organisations.
