UK and Switzerland sign services agreement
The UK and Switzerland have signed a Services Mobility Agreement.
The UK and Switzerland have today (Monday 14 December) signed a deal on services, providing continuity for UK businesses, professionals and other service providers to continue working freely in Switzerland for up to 90 days a year.
The International Trade Secretary, Liz Truss and Swiss Vice-President and Federal Councillor Guy Parmelin signed the UK-Switzerland Services Mobility Agreement in London today.
This deal will support trade in vital industries of the UK economy, including finance, legal services, consultancy, the tech sector and the creative industries.
Today’s agreement builds on the existing UK-Switzerland trade deal and will enter into force from 1 January 2021. It will help lay the groundwork for an enhanced UK-Switzerland trading relationship in the future.

This deal between two services powerhouses is an important part of our mission to be a global hub for services and technology trade. It supports a services relationship that is worth over £17 billion and provides much needed certainty for thousands of UK businesses and professionals.
It will enhance the UK’s status as a global leader in services, supporting trade in vital sectors and benefitting businesses of all sizes, from big firms to small start-ups and self-employed professionals. I hope it will pave the way for an enhanced UK Switzerland deal in the future.
