UK Investment Council

The UK Investment Council aims to enhance UK inward investment and inform the UK’s independent trade policy by providing a forum for global investors to offer high-level advice to DBT ministers and wider government.

The UK Investment Council was established on 27 April 2021.

Role

The Investment Council’s principal purpose is to provide a platform to influential global investors so that they can highlight their perspectives, priorities and concerns relating to UK inward investment.

Chair and structure

The Council is chaired by the Minister for Investment at the Department for Business and Trade (DBT).

The secretariat function is provided by DBT.

The Council typically meets 4 times a year. Further meetings with specific members may take place as and when pertinent topics and issues arise.

The Investment Council consists of 31 members.
