Offshore Wind Cost Reduction Task Force

The Offshore Wind Cost Reduction Task Force is chaired by Andrew Jamieson, Chair of RenewableUK, and involves industry, government and the Crown Estate. It recommends areas to be targeted by industry and government for potential cost reduction, to enable the UK to unlock the full potential of the UK’s offshore wind resources

Role of the group

The main role of the task force will be to recommend areas to be targeted by industry and government for potential cost reduction, to enable the UK to unlock the full potential of the UK’s offshore wind resources. It will report by Spring 2012 to Minister of State Charles Hendry and ministers of the devolved administrations, and will help inform future iterations of the roadmap.

The Offshore Wind Cost reduction Task Force launched their report on the 13th June 2012 at RenewableUK’s Global Offshore Wind Conference in London.

The task force membership was announced by Charles Hendry on 12 October 2011.
