Digital Infrastructure Advisory Group

The group, is the forum through which regional digital infrastructure leads will provide recommendations to the government on how it can support their digital connectivity ambitions and support adoption at a local level.

Role of the group

The Digital Infrastructure Advisory Group guides and advises on how it can support their digital connectivity ambitions and support adoption at a local level.

Regional and local authorities sometimes face challenges in securing investment in digital connectivity networks and services to support their public services and local economies.

The Digital Infrastructure Advisory Group (DIAG) will provide a platform for regions and local authorities to articulate those challenges, discuss opportunities for encouraging the provision of networks and services to meet demand and make policy recommendations to the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT).

The primary objective of the DIAG will be to enable regions and the government to work together to encourage the adoption of, and attract investment in, advanced digital connectivity at local level (with a focus on advanced wireless technologies).

Membership

Membership of the DIAG will be open to all regional and local authorities.

Membership of the DIAG Board is by invitation and composed of selected regional digital leads from across the UK - based on relevant knowledge, expertise insights, and ability to represent the interests of their regions/ local areas.
