Call to run a project which supports unemployed and inactive residents with health conditions, with an additional focus on those aged 50+.

This call is seeking projects which will support participants in overcoming barriers to employment by tackling deprivation and addressing the multiple factors that contribute to social exclusion and deprivation.

Projects will provide intensive support to unemployed and inactive residents with health conditions acting as barriers to labour market participation through provision of tailored and integrated health and work support.

Also additional intensive support to unemployed and inactive residents aged 50+ who have a health condition and/or other barriers preventing them from entering the labour market. Projects can apply for one or both of the proposed areas of activity under this call.

Location

The project must cover the North East LEP area across both the More Developed and Transition categories of region, or sub regions within it. The Transition area is Durham and More Developed areas are the local authority districts of

  • Northumberland,
  • North Tyneside,
  • Newcastle,
  • Gateshead,
  • South Tyneside; and
  • Sunderland.

Value

Approximately £6,000,000 of funding is available.

Deadlines

Outline application deadline: 23 October 2017.

Completion date

The project must be completed no later than 30th April 2021.
