Call to run a project to deliver activities within farming businesses to allow them to develop new processes and systems in the York, North Yorkshire and East Riding and Humber LEP areas.

Details

Activity is sought under both Investment Priority 2.1 and Investment Priority 2.2 for both the - York, North Yorkshire and East Riding (YNYER) and Humber LEP areas.

Projects will be expected to demonstrate how they will develop mechanisms to identify and engage with rural businesses who have the ambition to increase profitability and resilience.

Examples of activities include:

Delivery of or referral to packages of learning which enable farm managers to:

  • develop the leadership, management and business skills necessary to support their businesses development and resilience,
  • assist the early adoption and full utilisation of new technologies and processes such as those funded through DEFRA Countryside Productivity grants and the Rural Development Programme for England Growth Programme,
  • support farmers in identifying and evaluating new ideas, technologies and farming systems, identifying their skills barriers to adapting new ideas, technologies and systems and co-designing new projects/activities to meet those needs.

Applicants are encouraged to put forward new or innovative solutions aligned to the ESF Operational Programme criteria for Investment Priority 2.1 and Investment Priority 2.2 and specifically addressing the local needs and priorities in this Call.

Location

The project must cover the York, North Yorkshire and East Riding and Humber Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) Areas.

Value

Approximately £800,000 of funding is available.

Deadlines

Outline application deadline: 13 September 2018.

Completion date

The project must be completed no later than 3 years and 6 months after the proposed start date.
